A straight rye whiskey aged for a minimum of three years in new charred oak barrels, bottled at 43% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is non-chill filtered.
Old Overholt traces its roots to Abraham Overholt's distillery, started in Pennsylvania in 1810. Production moved to Jim Beam's Kentucky facilities in 1987, and it is now distilled in column stills at Clermont.
The nose is light and peppery, with gentle fruit, vanilla and a note of fresh rye bread. On the palate, vanilla gives way to clove, white pepper, dark fruit and cocoa. The finish is dry and crisp, with leather, tobacco, pecans and black pepper.
