Old Overholt is a straight rye whiskey bottled at 80 proof (40%) and aged for three years. It takes its name from Abraham Overholt (1784-1870), whose pride in his product is part of the brand's story.
After Prohibition it became the most popular spirit in the country, according to the brand. It is also known for mixing well in classic cocktails such as the Old Style Manhattan.
