This Old Overholt straight rye marks America's 250th anniversary. It is the brand's regular four year old rye at 43% ABV (86 proof), in a 75cl bottle with a patriotic, historically inspired label built around a "1776–2026" theme.
Old Overholt traces its roots to 1810, when the Overholt family began distilling rye in West Overton, Pennsylvania.
The nose offers rye grain, vanilla, caramel, toasted oak and light pepper. The palate is smooth and spicy, with cinnamon, subtle fruit and warm baking spice. The finish is warm and balanced, with lingering spice, toasted grain, oak and a touch of sweetness.
