Old Pulteney 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt matured for 12 years in hand-picked bourbon casks. The distillery uses water from nearby Loch Hempriggs. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky is reddish gold with a faint pink tone. It won gold and Best in Class at the International Wine & Spirit Competition in 2006.
The nose is of medium intensity, very dry and closed, with a hint of the beach in sand and seaweed. The palate is dry, medium-bodied and soft, leading to a dry, short finish.
