Old Pulteney – 17 Year Old LMDW Single Cask (70cl, 53.6%)

A single cask Old Pulteney, 17 years old, from the Highland distillery known as the Maritime Malt. It was distilled in 2004 and bottled in 2021 at 53.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It comes from cask 227, with 240 bottles in the outturn, and was selected exclusively for La Maison du Whisky. Old Pulteney was founded in 1826 and is the most northern distillery on the Scottish mainland. It closed for almost 30 years before reopening in 1959. Its saline character, with hints of coconut and broom, is what the distillery is known for.
