Old Pulteney 18 Year Old is a Highland single malt matured in ex-bourbon and Spanish oak casks, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It takes its character and deep amber colour entirely from those casks, with chocolate and spice at the centre and brighter citrus notes alongside.
The nose is intense and warming, with chocolate, creamy vanilla and honey, then citrus and apple. The palate has chocolate, honeyed spice and Christmas cake, with floral notes and green apple. The finish is long, lifted by citrus.
