This is Old Pulteney 25, a Highland single malt first launched in September and October 2017. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky spent 22 years in American oak, followed by three further years in Spanish oak butts that previously held Oloroso sherry.
The nose combines wet cookie dough, orange peel, cinnamon and other spices, with vanilla, dark chocolate, lime honey and baked apples. The palate is creamy and rich, with honey, dried fruits and raisins moving towards liquorice and rhubarb. The long finish brings toffee, dark chocolate, coffee and herbal notes.
