Old Smuggler is a blended Scotch whisky from the 1970s, bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The brand was introduced in 1835 by James & George Stodart Ltd, named in honour of the people who smuggled whisky during the 18th century. In 1922 it was acquired by Jimmy Barclay and R.A. MacKinlay, who made it especially popular in the United States during Prohibition. Hiram Walker took over the company in 1936, and the brand has belonged to the Italian Gruppo Campari since 2006. Old Smuggler is still produced today.
