Old Smuggler is a blended Scotch whisky, bottled at 40% in a 1.75 litre bottle. It combines grain whisky with over 40 single malts. The Stodart family of whisky merchants first blended and bottled it in 1835, and the brand is now owned by Gruppo Campari.
The nose starts with soft biscuit and sugar-cookie sweetness, then brings cereal grain, honey and light caramel. The palate is fat and creamy, with toffee sweetness and a nutty note. The finish is medium in length, with mild spice, subtle oak and a little honey.
