A 19 year old American straight whiskey from Old Sport, taken from barrel 7 and nicknamed Vanilla After Dark. The barrel yielded 78 bottles, each in 750ml and finished with a blue wax top. It was bottled by Mark Carter of Old Sport LLC in Louisville, Kentucky.
It is uncut and unfiltered, so the 68.75% ABV (137.5 proof) is exactly what came from the cask.
Brown sugar, vanilla bean, caramel, toasted oak and baking spice show on the nose. The palate is deep with brown sugar, dark caramel, mature oak and rich vanilla. The finish is long, with a pronounced vanilla frosting character, lingering sweetness and seasoned oak.
