Ole Smoky Apple Pie Moonshine is a flavoured, corn-based moonshine from Gatlinburg, Tennessee, bottled at 35% ABV in a 750ml mason jar.
It starts from a mashbill of 80% corn and 20% grain, distilled six times in copper pot stills. Pure apple juice and ground cinnamon are then added, which give it a golden-amber colour.
The nose is warm cinnamon applesauce with baked pastry and a faint caramel sweetness. The palate is cinnamon and fresh apple, then buttery pie crust and caramel, building to tart baked apple. The finish is medium, gently warming, with cinnamon lingering longest.
