Ole Smoky – James Ownby Reserve Tennessee Straight Bourbon Whiskey (75cl, 47%)

James Ownby Reserve is a Tennessee straight bourbon from Ole Smoky Distillery, bottled at 47% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It was the distillery's first premium whiskey that is not a moonshine, launched in June 2021, with under 200 barrels in the first release. The whiskey is aged in new charred American oak and filtered through sugar maple charcoal in the Lincoln County Process. It is named for James Ownby, a Revolutionary War veteran and Overmountain Man, who was the great-grandfather of co-founder Joe Baker, five generations back. Expect caramel and vanilla, with dried fruit and baking spice on the mid-palate, and a long, warming finish.
