Ole Smoky Salty Caramel is a flavoured whiskey from Ole Smoky Distillery in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, bottled at 30% in a 750ml bottle.
The base is a whiskey made from corn, rye and malted barley, distilled in copper pot stills and aged in charred oak barrels before natural salted caramel flavouring is added.
The nose is led by caramel syrup, with vanilla cream, a hint of peach cobbler and a little marzipan. The palate is thick and sweet, with butterscotch, vanilla and baked stone fruit, before a salty note steadies the sugar. The finish is medium and creamy, with salt and caramel lingering.
