Oremus Tokaji Aszú 5 Puttonyos 2016 (50cl, 14%)

This is a 2016 Tokaji Aszú 5 Puttonyos from Oremus, a sweet white wine made from Furmint and Hárslevelű in a 50cl bottle. Oremus is based at Tolcsva in Tokaj, Hungary, with cellars cut into the rock. The estate takes its name from a vineyard once owned by Pauline monks. The wine is fermented at controlled temperature in stainless steel and aged in steel too. Deep golden with amber highlights, it smells of apricots and ripe peaches over chocolate and sweet spice. The palate is very balanced, and the finish is warm, enveloping and very persistent.
