Orphan Barrel Castle's Curse is a 14 year old single malt from Teaninich Distillery in the Scottish Highlands, bottled at 47.4% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It belongs to Diageo's Orphan Barrel series.
The whisky was aged for 14 years in European oak casks with no additional finish, and was released in 2023 as a one-time bottling. Teaninich's spirit mostly goes into blends, and official single malt releases are uncommon. The label shows the Kelpie, the Scottish water horse.
The nose offers tangerine, poached pear, sweet confectionery and dried herbs. The palate is smooth and rich with vanilla, red apple and mint, and the finish is long, with hints of oak and spice.
