Osborne Ruby Port

Osborne Ruby is a port from the Douro valley, made from Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela and Tinta Barroca. The grapes are destemmed, gently crushed and fermented in steel tanks, and brandy is added to stop fermentation before all the sugar has turned to alcohol. After blending, the port is aged for three to four years in traditional 550 litre pipes. The colour is a dark ruby red. The nose opens quickly in the glass with cherry, plum and almond, and the finish balances fruit sweetness with dryness and freshness. It works as an aperitif or after a meal, served lightly chilled.
