Oskar Davidsen Solbærrom is a Danish blackcurrant liqueur made from ripe blackcurrants, Jamaican rum and extracts of 11 herbs, following an old recipe.
The combination gives a good sweetness, a little bitterness and a fresh acidity that keeps it balanced. It is sweet, soft and full-bodied, with the flavour of ripe blackcurrant and Jamaican rum clearly to the fore.
It suits coffee, dessert and pancakes, works as an aperitif or in long drinks, and is served at Christmas with æbleskiver and ris à la mande.
