Oxhead Dram-Addicts Bowmore 24 Year Old (70cl, 43.2%)

This is a 24 year old Islay single malt from Bowmore, bottled by Oxhead in its Dram-Addicts range. It was distilled in March 1997 and bottled in September 2021 at 43.2% ABV, after maturing in a refill hogshead, cask 156048. It is non-chill filtered and of natural colour, with an outturn of 121 bottles. The bottler describes it as a slightly dirty take on the coastal, phenolic, tropical-fruited style associated with Bowmores of the late 1990s. The nose is floral and fruity, with ripe mango, pomelo peel and lemon, then oily tar, seawater and wood smoke. The palate adds passion fruit, roasted pineapple, smoked kelp, peat and brine. The finish is waxy, with smoked meats and tropical fruit.
