Paul Jaboulet Aîné Crozes-Hermitage Les Jalets 2022

A red Crozes-Hermitage from Paul Jaboulet Aîné, made mainly from Syrah grown on a parcel near Les Jalets, with a smaller part from a neighbouring parcel under long-term contract. The vines on Les Jalets are 25 years old, yields are limited to 40-45 hl/ha, and the grapes are hand-picked. The wine is aged for 12 months in a combination of large French casks, French barriques and stainless steel tanks. It has an immediate, aromatic and fruity style, elegant with spicy tones. On the palate it is fairly full and structured, with dark cherry and English liquorice, developing velvety texture and black pepper with aeration. It suits pepper steak, grilled veal with a dark sauce or roast lamb.
