Paul John – Oloroso Indian Single Malt (70cl, 48%)

Paul John Oloroso is an unpeated Indian single malt from Goa, finished in Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It is not chill-filtered and has no added colour or flavouring. Goa's tropical climate runs all year and speeds up maturation, with around 8% a year lost to evaporation. The distillery also points to the intense character of the barley grown at the foot of the Himalayas. Tasting notes describe sherried fruit, dried fruit peel, dates, walnuts and malt on the nose. The palate brings blackberry, honeycomb, dark chocolate, spicy oak and orange, and the finish has cinnamon, nutmeg and redcurrant jelly.
