Paul John – Peated Single Malt Batch 2 (70cl, 55.5%)

A peated Indian single malt from Paul John, batch 2, bottled at 55.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is made in Goa, where the year-round tropical climate speeds maturation and the angels' share is around 8% a year. The barley is grown at the foot of the Himalayas. The whisky is non-chill-filtered, with no added colour or flavour. The nose is smoky, sweet and earthy, with mild spice. On the palate, crisp Muscovado and Demerara sugar give way to smoked malt, with a hint of hickory spice and Dominican cocoa. The finish is delicate, with clear Dominican cocoa and an edge of marmalade.
