Fundador is a Spanish brandy from Pedro Domecq, made from grapes grown in the Jerez region. The grape juice is fermented, gently distilled and then aged in oak casks, which give it an amber colour. The name means founder in Spanish.
The palate is soft and velvety, with vanilla and caramel, sweet spice and a faint trace of toasted wood. The finish is warm and lasting. It is best sipped neat at room temperature, and also works in cocktails.
