Peerless High Rye is a straight bourbon from Kentucky made with a high proportion of rye.
The nose is savoury, with warm seasoned oak, leather and citrus, developing into cedar, dark fruit and sweet grasses. On the palate come candied oak with toasted sugar and charred orange, then a bright, tea-like freshness and a thick mouthfeel.
The finish adds warm leather and rich tobacco, with sweet and earthy notes competing.
