Penelope Bourbon Barrel Strength is a four-grain straight bourbon bottled at the natural strength of the barrel, with no dilution and no chill filtration. It was distilled in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, and bottled by Penelope Bourbon Bottling Company of St. Louis, and it comes in a 750ml bottle. Because it is bottled at full proof, the strength follows the barrel rather than a fixed figure. Water can be added in the glass to bring it to taste. The nose is intense, with caramel, oak spice, vanilla, dried fruit and warming grain. The palate is full and concentrated, with caramel, brown sugar, rye spice, toasted oak and vanilla. The finish is long and warming, with oak, spice and caramel.
