Penelope Bourbon Rio Four Grain (75cl)

Penelope Bourbon Rio is a four-grain straight bourbon finished in Brazilian cachaça casks, in a 75cl bottle. It is a limited expression from Penelope Bourbon, bottled by the Penelope Bourbon Bottling Company of St. Louis. Cachaça is Brazil's national spirit, distilled from fresh-pressed sugarcane juice rather than molasses. The casks bring sugarcane sweetness, tropical fruit and a bright, fermented character to the four-grain base. The Rio name nods to Brazil's best-known city. The nose offers tropical fruit, sugarcane, caramel and vanilla. On the palate come tropical fruit, molasses, warm spice and caramel, and the finish is medium to long with lingering tropical warmth.
