Penelope Four Grain Straight Bourbon Whiskey (40%)

Penelope Four Grain is a straight bourbon distilled in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, then aged and bottled in Bardstown, Kentucky. The brand's founders, Michael Paladini and Danny Polise, named it after Paladini's daughter. It is made from three bourbon mash bills combining corn, wheat, rye and malted barley, and aged in new charred American oak. It is non-chill filtered and bottled at 40% (80 proof). The nose shows corn sweetness, maple syrup, orange oils and vanilla. The palate is creamy caramel, butterscotch and honeyed cereal, with gentle rye spice. The finish is soft, with cornbread, vanilla icing and light toasted oak.
