Penelope Wheated is a four-grain straight bourbon whiskey bottled at 95 proof (47.5%). It is made from a wheated mash bill of 74% corn, 7% rye, 16% wheat and 3% malted barley, and the whiskey is aged for 4 to 6 years.
It is given a double cask finish, and is intended for sipping neat or for use in cocktails.
The nose is light oak, sweet corn, apple and pear. The palate brings vanilla, honey, caramel apple and a hint of orange zest, and the finish carries brown sugar, toasted oak and a touch of cinnamon spice.
