Perinet Priorat DOQ 2016

A red wine from Mas d'en Xes in Catalonia, expressing a classic blend of Priorat grapes and the local terroir. The grapes are hand-picked and sorted after two days in a water bath. The wine is cold-macerated for 30 days, then aged in 40% new French oak, 55% used French oak and 5% American oak. It is unfiltered and has a raw character. The wine has a fine ruby red colour with notes of ripe fruit, balsamic, coconut and vanilla from the cask. It is well structured with fine built-in tannins that fill the mouth, and the finish is classically long with a hint of liquorice. The blend is 31% Garnatxa, 26% Carinyena, 20% Syrah, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot.
