Pierre Ferrand 10 Générations is a Grande Champagne cognac made solely from Ugni Blanc grapes. It is distilled slowly on the lees and aged in French oak, part of it in casks that previously held Sauternes. It is bottled at 46% in a 50cl bottle.
The nose combines cooked and candied fruit, such as apple, pear, apricot and raisin, with vanilla, caramel, toasted nuts, rose and orange blossom. The palate is rich and balanced, moving from ripe fruit to honey, woody spice, toasted almonds and a hint of orange peel or ginger.
The finish is long and warming, with dried fruit, soft tobacco, light chocolate and spice.
