Pievalta San Paolo Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Riserva 2022

San Paolo is a Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Riserva from Pievalta, an organic and biodynamic estate at Maiolati Spontini in the Marche. It is made from Verdicchio grown in the San Paolo cru, matured for twenty months on the lees and then for a year in bottle. The colour is an intense, luminous straw yellow. The nose opens with floral notes, then yellow-fleshed fruit, aromatic herbs and citrus, with a hint of almond. In the mouth it is slender yet juicy, with a pleasant savoury quality and very good persistence. It works with fish and white meat, and the estate's own suggestion is Marche porchetta.
