Pike Road Sparkler Rosé Willamette Valley (13.5%)

Pike Road Sparkler Rosé is an easy-going sparkling rosé from Pike Road Wines in Oregon, made as a refreshing wine for the beach, a picnic or an aperitif. It is closed with a crown cap. The recipe changes slightly from year to year. The 2020 blend is 39% Chardonnay, 33% Pinot Gris, 16% Riesling and 12% Pinot Noir, each vinified separately in concrete or steel and then blended. The pink colour comes from brief skin contact with the Pinot Noir and a little Pinot Noir red wine. The nose is fresh, fruity and floral, with wild strawberry, rose petals and candied ginger. The mousse is gentle, the acidity medium, and the palate is full of red fruit.
