A six year old Kentucky straight rye from Heaven Hill Distillery, bottled at 55% ABV (110 proof) in a 75cl bottle. The barrels are selected after a minimum of six years in high rickhouse storage, in new charred American oak.
The Pikesville brand dates to 1895 in Maryland. Heaven Hill acquired it in 1982 and relaunched it nationally in 2015.
It is pale copper in colour. The nose has dusty cocoa and oaky smoke, the palate is dry and spicy with honeyed rye and cloves, and the finish is soft vanilla with baking spices.
