Pikesville is a Kentucky straight rye from Heaven Hill, bottled at 55% ABV (110 proof) in a 750ml bottle and aged for six years. It is made from extra-aged barrels kept in prime warehouse positions.
Pikesville began as a historic Maryland brand. Heaven Hill revived the label roughly a decade ago and moved production to Kentucky, which caused some confusion at the time about which style it represented.
The whiskey is described as having big flavours of barrel char and rye spice, with the high strength adding intensity.
