Pinhook Bourbon War 8 Year Vertical Series (75cl, 57.3%)

Pinhook Bourbon War 8 Year is a cask-strength Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 57.3% ABV (114.6 proof) without chill filtration. It is the eight-year release in the Pinhook Vertical Series, which follows a group of 1,350 barrels sourced from MGP of Indiana and aged at Castle & Key Distillery in Millville, Kentucky, from four to twelve years. This bottling comes from 120 of those barrels and yielded 20,880 bottles. The mashbill is 75% corn, 20.5% rye and 4.5% malted barley. The nose offers maple syrup, waffles, brown sugar, cinnamon and cherry, with a peppery rye edge. The palate is full and oily, with cinnamon, rye spice, brown sugar, maple and toasted oak. The finish is long, with dry oak tannins and lingering rye and cinnamon.
