Pinhook Collaboration #3 is an Australian single malt made in partnership between Pinhook and the sommelier Jordan Salcito. It was distilled by Starward in Melbourne from 100% malted barley and bottled at 57.4% ABV (114.8 proof) in a 75cl bottle.
The whisky was aged for four to five years in red wine barrels, and the blend draws on 28 barrels. It is a limited edition that reflects the link between wine and whiskey, and the working relationship between Salcito and Pinhook co-founder Sean Josephs.
The nose is poached pear, vanilla curd, cardamom and a hint of cedar. The palate brings ripe raspberries, wild honey, clove and graham cracker.
