Pinhook Collaboration Series Double Oak Bourbon Whiskey Edition No. 5 is a Kentucky straight bourbon made with New Orleans chefs Donald Link and Stephen Stryjewski of the Link Restaurant Group. It is bottled at 52% ABV in a 750ml bottle, and the release supports the Link Stryjewski Foundation.
The Double Oak name is literal: three years in one new charred oak barrel, then three more in a second, six years in all. The mash bill is 75% corn, 15% rye and 10% malted barley.
Expect pronounced vanilla, caramel and toasted oak, with the rye keeping some spice in the mix.
