This is the 2021 vintage of Pinhook's flagship rye, known as 'Hard Rye Guy', a Kentucky straight rye whiskey bottled at 98 proof. The mash bill is 60% rye, 20% corn and 20% malted barley. It was distilled and aged for over two years at Castle & Key Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky.
Apricot, cinnamon and eucalyptus lead on the nose. The palate runs to candied liquorice, caramel and orange peel.
