Pinhook Vertical Series Tiz Rye Time 6 Year Old is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey bottled unfiltered at 54% ABV. The mash bill is 95% rye and 5% malted barley, and the whiskey was aged six years in new charred American oak. It is the third release in Pinhook's nine-year Vertical Series, which follows one group of rye barrels from four to twelve years. The rye was sourced from MGP, then aged and blended at Castle & Key in Frankfort, and the bottle is hand-waxed in silver. The name comes from a thoroughbred at Bourbon Lane Stable. The nose is juniper, dried apricot, cardamom and ginger cookie dough. The palate brings eucalyptus, chocolate, clove and toasted pecans.
