Pinot Noir Russian River Valley - Kistler Vineyards

A Pinot Noir from Kistler Vineyards, harvested at night in cool temperatures to keep the grapes fresher and better preserve their acidity. It ferments spontaneously in open tanks and the free-run juice ages in French oak barrels for up to 18 months. In the glass it is ruby red, with intense floral and fruity aromas of red fruits and smoky hints. The palate is rich, medium-bodied and rather dry, with medium-high acidity, medium tannins and intensity, plum and currant flavours, and a spicy black pepper finish. It pairs well with polenta with porcini mushrooms, roast game or Moroccan braised salmon.
