A 14-year-old single malt from Pittyvaich, a Speyside distillery, bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as cask 90.1. It was distilled in February 1976 and bottled in September 1990 at its natural cask strength of 57.2% (100.1 proof), in a 75cl bottle.
This was the Society's first bottling from Pittyvaich, which Arthur Bell & Sons established in 1974. The distillery closed in 1993 and was demolished in 2002. The bottling appeared in the Society's New Year Bottlings, Issue No. 31, in 1991.
The original notes describe a sweet nose of butterscotch, raisins, crème brûlée and haystack, with a palate that delivers all the nose promises.
