Pittyvaich – 1989 30 Years Old Special Release 2020 (70cl)

This is a 30 year old Pittyvaich from 1989, a Speyside single malt from a closed distillery, in a 70cl bottle. It is the 2020 Special Release, with an outturn of 7,056 bottles. It is the first Pittyvaich to be finished in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, which added a rich vanilla sweetness to the distillery's light, creamy, fruity character. The nose offers sweet oak, delicate ripe fruit and dried flowers. The palate is soft and silky with plenty of vanilla, turning drier as it develops. The finish is smooth and warming, closing on a final touch of sweetness.
