Pittyvaich – 1993-2022 29 Year Old Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseurs Choice Single Cask 3723 The Recollection (70cl, 48.6%)

This is a single cask Pittyvaich from Speyside, filled in 1993 and released in 2022 at 29 years old by Gordon & MacPhail. It is part of the first tranche of their Recollection series, which celebrates Scotland's lost distilleries, and comes in a 70cl bottle at 48.6%. The whisky matured in a single refill American hogshead that yielded 159 bottles. It was bottled at natural cask strength without colouring or chill filtration. The nose is rich banana with green apple and tropical fruit. The palate is sweet citrus with pineapple and subtle mint, and the medium-bodied finish brings grapefruit and charred oak.
