This is a 30 year old Pittyvaich from 1989, released in 2020 as the Ghost bottling. It is the first Pittyvaich finished in Bourbon casks. It is bottled at its natural cask strength of 50.8% ABV, in a 70cl bottle, and only 7056 bottles were filled.
The nose is sweet oak, delicate ripe fruit and dried flowers. The texture is soft and silky, with plenty of vanilla alongside the green, creamy, fruity distillery character. It turns drier as it develops and finishes smooth and warming, with a sweet note at the very end.
