Pittyvaich 1989 is a 30 year old Speyside single malt from a closed distillery, in a 70cl bottle and part of the 2020 Special Release. Only 7,056 bottles were filled.
It is the first Pittyvaich to be finished in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, a finish that adds a rich vanilla sweetness to the distillery's light, creamy, fruity character.
The nose offers sweet oak, delicate ripe fruit and dried flowers. The texture is soft and silky, with vanilla and a green, creamy, fruity palate that turns drying. The finish is smooth and warming, closing sweet.
