Poli Barrique Solera di famiglia 18-98 (70cl)

A grappa from the Poli distillery in Veneto, made by blending vintages from 1998 to 2018. Ageing follows the solera method in oak barriques, layering older and younger vintages for consistency. It is deep amber in colour. The nose shows vanilla, chocolate, dried fruit and sweet spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg. On the palate it is velvety, with honey, caramelised fruit and well-integrated wood, leading to a long, persistent finish. It is presented in a wooden tube and is suited to sipping neat after a meal.
