Poli Sarpa di Poli Bianca Grappa (70cl, 40%)

Sarpa di Poli Bianca is a young grappa from Poli, made from Merlot and Cabernet pomace. The name comes from the Venetan word for pomace, the raw material of every grappa. It is distilled in small batches in copper stills heated by steam boilers on a discontinuous cycle, a craft method that suits its clean, bright character. It is clear and crystalline in the glass. The nose is fresh and delicate, with woodland undergrowth and a floral note of rose. On the palate it is smooth and soft yet still generous in flavour, a grappa to sip neat at the end of a meal.
