Port Askaig 8 Year Old is a single malt from the island of Islay, bottled by Speciality Drinks as a permanent part of the range. It was matured in American oak casks. The peat is expressed with a soft touch, and the whisky is described as delicate and creamy. Some find it follows a coastal route of sea spray and salt, others a smoky, ashy one, others an oily, fruity one. Typical notes include smoke, wild herbs, honey and vanilla.
