Port Charlotte 18 Year Old is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich Distillery, distilled, matured and bottled on Islay at 51.5% in a 70cl bottle. This 2025 release runs to 8,000 bottles and was made by head distiller Adam Hannett.
It is distilled from 100% Scottish mainland barley, with a phenol level of 40 ppm. The whisky matured in 74% refill sherry casks and 26% refill French oak wine casks.
The nose offers dried fruit, figs, sultanas and raisins, with soft smoke and mellow oak. The palate is sweet and fruity, with toasted spices, citrus, toffee and honey. The finish carries wood spices, smoked leather and a little nutty salinity, with soft peat smoke.
