Port Charlotte is the smoky side of Bruichladdich, made on the island of Islay. This ten-year-old single malt is heavily peated and bottled at 50%.
It matured in ex-bourbon casks and French wine casks, and the wine casks add a fruit note to the smoke. The peat is strong, and the 50% strength gives it a firm start on the palate.
