Port Ellen 1979 is the 3rd release in the annual Port Ellen series, a single malt Scotch whisky from a distillery on Islay that is now closed. It was distilled in 1979 and bottled by Diageo in 2003 after 24 years, at 57.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
This limited edition numbers 9,000 bottles. The distillery stands in the town of Port Ellen and was established as a malt mill in 1825.
